Meet Our Model: Cheryl

Her vibrant energy was quite inspiring to me from the first moment I saw Cheryl's image on Facebook, where I noticed she is so put together and fashionably savvy, with this friendly charismatic charm. When we finally had the opportunity to speak on the phone before we met, she told me that "this campaign was out of her comfort zone, but she is totally looking forward to it." As she continued saying: this is something she would normally not put herself out for but was inspired with our mutual friend Jada who photographed for my campaign back in 2018. Concluding to express, "If she did it, I would do it with her. And if I'm going to get out of my comfort zone, I am going to do it all the way!" Just that statement right there is very POWERFUL to me. Because personally I wish I could get out of my comfort zone, even though I am the photographer behind my own bathing suit project. Therefore, she encourages me with her fortitude of tenacity and beautiful confidence of self-expression. With the diversity of change, in the past she has been dedicated with her 43 years in Telecome and Banking, and then recently changed gears to create a new career with Cabi Clothing. No wonder she dresses so well with grace and style, and I say that with envy. From her soul of being a woman, she is so pleasant to be around, and we do have something in common - we both want to go to Italy.

  • "Why are you involved in this Red+Black Campaign for Pretty Worthy?"

I wanted to do something that is outside of my comfort zone.

  • "Do you often wear bathing suits? And what is the type of suits you like to wear most?"

Yes, I preferer Tankini’s or a One-Piece if I am in public but will wear a bikini if I am in my pool.

I got to dance on stage with Chris Isaak at One Step Beyond, an after-hours club in Santa Clara, CA

 

  • "Do you have a business that you would like to share with us, or what you do for a living? We would love to hear about it."

I retired in December 2021 after spending 43 years in Telecom and Banking. I sell Cabi Clothing now, I offer in person and video, one-on-one, small and large trunk shows and will even drop off a bag of items on your front porch for you to try in the privacy of your own home.

  • "What do you do for fun in Vegas? Any special hot spots you like to go to?"

I enjoy going to shows, concerts and Vegas Knights games

  • "Do you have a favorite vacation spot that you have traveled to?"

That’s a hard question to answer. I have had the opportunity to travel to so many wonderful places around the world including: Bali, China France, Hawaii, Italy, Mexico, Spain & Portugal.

 

  • "What exotic place would you like to travel to in the future? And who would you bring?"

I would love to go to Croatia with my husband and my sisters and I are talking about going to Ireland

 

  • "What does this bathing suit campaign mean to you? Does it give you some sort of empowerment?"
